Please note that these vendors are not guaranteed as Vendors in the Boutique. We only close off to additional reps since if we DO decide, during the jury process, to accept an application from these companies then we will need to accept based on the first from each company.

Please submit your application as quickly as possible in order to be considered in the first round of jury selection. Please keep in mind that we maintain a careful balance of vendors, so once your category is filled up we will NOT be creating more spaces.

If you are a representative of a direct-sales company (Cookie Lee, Avon, etc.) feel free to check back periodically to see if your company is already represented so that you know if submitting an application would be necessary.

We are excited to announce that the next De Portola Boutique will be held on Saturday, April 30th from 9am - 4pm. We will have the application posted on January 3rd, and look forward to putting together a catalog of fabulous vendors for our shoppers!

Central Cashier or Individual Cashiers?

Each individual vendor is responsible for their own transactions. If we were taking a percentage of your sales we would have had a central cashier, but this way we avoid long lines of people trying to buy from 2 cashiers the goods that they picked up from 50 vendors. ESPECIALLY since the boutique has different areas, we don’t want people to work too hard to make purchases. Let’s be honest, most consumers are fickle, and if they have to walk 20 yards and get in line they’re more likely to change their mind and skip the purchase all-together.

Long story short (I know, too late) – you do your own transactions!

A Reminder About Submitting Applications!

There are TWO addresses on the application - one is for the location of the event (27031 Preciados) and one is for where you send the application (25061 Sebastian Lane). Please keep an eye on this if you mail in an application. I'd hate for your application to get misplaced by not sending it to the correct address!

Otherwise, please pardon the "blank slate" of this site. Currently the focus is on the education of potential vendors on the details of the boutique.

How The Fundraising For This Event Works

100% of the fundraising for this event goes directly to the PTA of De Portola Elementary School, used for the wonderful art and science programs, improved technology and ALL of the wonderful things that our PTA does to strengthen our school community. This is raised through the table fees that the vendors pay, as well as the money we raise from the silent auctions and the baked goods table that we plan on having. We are NOT, repeat NOT asking for a percentage of sales. This way we win big and you win big. The organizer and all the volunteers are donating their time and energy - nobody is getting paid. ONE HUNDRED PERCENT goes to the kids!

Advertising - What's The Plan?

We plan on hitting this from all angles! We're listed on Yahoo Events, Craig's List, Meetup.com, our own blog of course, as well as the website and blog for my own company. Locally we're already being advertised on the electronic marquee at La Paz and Marguerite here in Mission Viejo and will very shortly be advertised on the local public access channel on a daily basis.

In print we'll be advertising in the Orange County Register, Saddleback Valley News, and the PennySaver. We also have a few local churches that have agreed to put notices up on their community boards.

We'll have signs up at the freeway offramps and along the path to the boutique, as well as at other major intersections. We'll have several cars (hopefully 30 or more) that will have advertising written in chalk paint on their windows for the mobile-advertising aspect.

School newsletters, PTA newsletters and neighborhood notices will cover the local clientele from the school itself.

Additionally, we would assume that each and every vendor will send emails to their contact list as a "Come On Down And See Us" approach. If each and every vendor does that then the list explodes. My list individually is over 1100 people.......wouldn't you appreciate a chance to sell to them?

How Many Years Has This Boutique Been Going On?

This is our third event in the Boutique world. Regardless of our "youth" in such a project, I guarantee you that we go above and beyond to provide the best customer service, timely response, and professionalism that we can. We want this to be a success for all involved, not just the school!

Vendor Limits

It is our goal to have an even spread of all types of vendors throughout the event - while we do want this to be a big boutique it certainly is not being approached in a "come one, come all" attitude for vendors. As such, we will not have 1 food vendor and then 31 jewelry vendors, and then a couple of others sprinkled in. We want this event to be a big success for you as well as for the school. No particular type of vendor should take up more than 25% of the vendor list.

We have had requests to reduce the number of Vendors that we allow to participate. While we appreciate that feedback, the only alternative to the size of our boutique is to require a percentage of sales, which at this point we are not going to undertake.

This is especially critical when you specify the types of products that you will be presenting, so please be clear when making your designations. If you display products from unauthorized categories you WILL be asked to remove them. This became a problem at our last event as a few Vendors ended up practically next door to each other carrying almost-identical items.

Additionally, even though we will have more than one vendor representing each niche market, we will also be focusing on ensuring that we do not have duplication of styles. Naturally, this include limiting our direct sales reps to one from each company (Mary Kay, Avon, Cookie Lee, etc.)

Table Questions - Fees, Size, etc.

1. What are the table fees, and what do the descriptions mean?

$60 for a Standard Outdoor, exposed. This means that you'll be outdoor on the blacktop area, not under the eaves. The standard size for this space is 10x10. This area is directly next to the MPR, so customers will not need to go hunting you down. Additionally, we'll have tons of signs throughout the MPR, and verbal direction as well. Again, it is not an "out the door, around the bend and down the way" situation....it's a "right out those doors" (which will be propped open actually) situation. You WILL be allowed to bring a canopy.

$60 for an Outdoor Eaves spot. This means you'll be outdoors by the Standard Outdoors area, but under the eaves area to provide shade. The standard size for this space is 11x8.

$70 MPR Standard Indoors. This means that you'll be in the MPR of the school, also referred to as the "Main Room." The standard size for this space is 6x7.

$80 Outdoor Entry. This is one of the 8 spots that line the main front entry to the boutique.......also known as "the first vendors they'll see." The standard size for this space is 3x14.

2. What if the standard size isn't enough.......What if I want a bigger space?

You are more than welcome to request more than one space, whether you prefer them side by side or distributed throughout the MPR or outdoors. There will be a charge on a per-space basis. If you rent more than 2 spaces then we will then factor in a volume discount (in other words, if you want 3 spaces we may only require payment of 2.5 spaces). We need to know this ASAP as these are factors that I will need to take into consideration for the floorplan and Vendor assignment. Please keep in mind that a request does not guarantee approval.

3. Do I need to provide my own table?

Yes. We are providing the location and advertising, that is all.
